Ubuntu desktop quirks

Here is a list of small problems with my current Gnome desktop:

  1. Save-as dialog is way too small and does not remember size and position
  2. Binding mouse buttons to XGL actions is near impossible
  3. No block editing feature in Gedit
  4. Defaults for Beryl are not adequate… most of the stuff gets in the way
  5. berylmanager is a mine-laden UI for screwing up your XGL configuration.  Only a small fraction of options are useful.

So I noticed that I could get a decent mac machine for pretty cheap…
